Teachers - listen up!  Many educators would agree that when a student has insight into instruction and ideas about teaching practices, we should take the time to listen. One of the great things about this MOOC is that teachers, preservice teachers, and high school students are having discussions about current classroom practices.

In today’s featured blog, Katherine, a high school student, blogs about why teachers should have blogs. She highlights the collaborative nature of blogs and the ways blogs can help teachers connect materials to students.  Katherine share that she has attended both virtual and traditional schools - and explains the affordances of using a blog, no matter the type of school.

We hope this blog will be a way for you to connect with other participants and learn more about important course information. If you are interested in learning more about MOOCs, Rick released this report through Michigan Virtual University. In the report Rick discusses the history of MOOCs including the current research focused on MOOCs. He also provides an overview about how MOOCS have been conceptualized and discusses the value of MOOCs for teachers and students.
